Over the Tavern The Mountain Playhouse is very pleased to announce the upcoming production of Over the Tavern, a wonderfully human comedy about a family growing up over a tavern in 1959 working class America. Centered around 12-year-old Rudy Paziniski, a smart, wise-cracking kid who is beginning to question the Roman Catholic values he's being taught at his confirmation class ("I read there are over 1,300 religions in the world. I'd like to shop around"), Rudy sets out to discover that if God put people on the earth to have fun - as he believes - why is it that his family isn't having any? A sure winner for anyone who grew up in the idealized years of Eisenhower's America - or whose parents did - this touchingly human comedy will keep you laughing right along with Rudy as he struggles to find the answers to life.
