Information:
The Holtwood Environmental Preserve has been officially certified and registered as a Monarch Butterfly Waystation. A waystation is a place for the monarchs to rest and eat on their way between the northern reproduction sites and the overwintering sites in mexico. Resource -rich waystaions help the monarchs reach their southern destinations each fall. Become a volunteer tagger as we catch, tag and release the butterflies to help with the Unvir. of Kansas in its tracking program. Bring a net if you have one. Come join the fun as you learn to tag and record the data. This program is free. This program will take place at two PPL locations. The first program will be held on Sept. 13 at Holtwood Environmental Center. The second will be held on Sept 14 at Brunner Island Wetlands. For more info. www.pplpreserves.com, Calendar of Events.
