Ann Van Kuren has been bringing exciting and ground-breaking dance events, site-specific works and collaborations to audiences in central Pennsylvania and beyond for nearly 20 years. Her work has been commissioned by numerous festivals and presented throughout the Eastern United States and Europe. The popular “The Raven…and Other Mysterious Tales” has presented provocative interpretations of a multitude of classic and lesser-known Poe works. Original holiday productions include “Winter Daydreams” and “Winter’s Light Over Big Spring.” Ann is a choreographer’s fellowship recipient of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

VanDance Inc., founded in 2001 and directed by Ann Van Kuren, is a State College-based modern dance repertory company committed to the vitality of dance in central Pennsylvania. VanDance brings to the State Theatre “Time Framed and Other Dance Encounters,” which presents together, for the first time, the work of several professional choreographers and companies from central Pennsylvania. Performing on the same stage for one night only, this unique coming together of choreographers and dancers includes VanDance in Van Kuren’s “Time Framed” and Dan Stark’s “Serenade for Goodbye,” ETC Dance in a world premiere by Elisha Clark, an improvisation by Michele Dunleavy and Sarah Mason’s Jade Project.
